Angela Gallop has been a forensic scientist for over 40 years. After joining the Forensic Science Service, the first crime scene she attended was for a case involving the Yorkshire Ripper. Professor David Wilson has spent his professional life working with violent men - especially men who have committed murder.

Aged 29 he became, at that time, the UK's youngest ever prison governor in charge of a jail, and his career since then has seen him sat across a table with all sorts of killers: sometimes in a tense interview; sometimes sharing a cup of tea or something a little stronger ; sometimes looking them in the eye to tell them that they are psychopaths. Australia's most baffling homicides and mysterious missing persons' cases are uniquely explored in this stunning true-crime book in which you the listener are invited to play armchair detective.

Featuring 18 infamous cases, Unsolved Australia unearths a host of jaw-dropping new evidence via in-depth interviews with police, families and criminals. Along the way you'll meet the 'Unsolved Squad' - the humble heroes and dedicated experts involved in collecting and connecting clues.

Review: Chase Darkness With Me by Billy Jensen | book'd out

On November 15, , in the small town of Holcomb, Kansas, four members of the Clutter family were savagely murdered by blasts from a shotgun held a few inches from their faces. There was no apparent motive for the crime, and there were almost no clues. Two young women are brutally murdered. The killer has never been found. What happened in the house on Easey Street? Why has the Easey Street murderer never been found, despite the million-dollar reward for information leading to an arrest? Did the women know their killer, or were their deaths due to a random, frenzied attack? Could the murderer have killed again?

As the country's top forensic pathologist, Dr Richard Shepherd has spent a lifetime uncovering the secrets of the dead. When death is sudden or unexplained, it falls to Shepherd to establish the cause. Each post-mortem is a detective story in its own right - and Shepherd has performed over 23, of them. Through his skill, dedication and insight, Dr Shepherd solves the puzzle to answer our most pressing question: how did this person die?

Have you ever wanted to solve a murder? Gather the clues the police overlooked. Put together the pieces. Identify the suspect. Journalist Billy Jensen spent 15 years investigating unsolved murders, fighting for the families of victims. The killer was still out there. But after the sudden death of a friend, crime writer Michelle McNamara, Billy became fed up. Following a dark night, he came up with a plan.

A plan to investigate past the point when the cops have given up. A plan to solve the murders himself. There were moments when i cheered, lots of moments when i cried, and throughout i had goosebumps. I love audio books when it's the author reading the book. I feel like i ingest it more deeply. It's like listening to a friend tell a story, and Billy Jensen tells a mighty fine story. I have nothing but awe and admiration for what Billy Jensen has selflessly done to be a victims advocate. Billy Jensen is a super hero in the most pure sense of the word.

We enjoyed this one but at times it became a little repetitious however still overall worth a listen. This book is a call to action for all those who love true crime and want to get involved.

The stories were great, the details were great Totally recommend. Like having a conversation with a friend and catching up after a long trip. Jensen is down to earth and honest. Never heard true crime be so appealing. Binge-listened to this book! Billy's story telling, knowledge and details had me hooked. Even my partner who isn't really into true crime thought this was a great listen. Today I lost my audiobook virginity to crime journalist Billy Jensen's latest book 'Chase darkness with me'. Like every first time I was apprehensive and had no idea what to expect.

Would I get the feeling of uncontrollable lust and not be able to stop? Would it be over too fast? Would I find it boring having one persons voice droning on in my ear holes for a long period of time? This was not the case no pun intended. Today I shared an intimate journey with a man on the other side of the world that I have never met.

I was introduced to his family straight away brash, I know! I am happy to say that I am willing to make the sacrifices and take the steps I need to continue this affair into the future and I am certainly not walking away from this experience dissatisfied or feeling guilty. Billy, you've found yourself a friend that you don't even know and I can't wait for the next x. I did go to work and still managed to finish in less than 24 hours. I was brought to tears from emotion during portions of the book but overall it was excellent.

Billy Jensen has a great voice for audiobooks; I highly recommend this to everyone into making this sometimes dark world, a better place. To preface this, I am not one for super critical reviews. Was it interesting? Did I enjoy it? Good enough for me. Nor am I rabid true crime fan. I am a rabid justice for victims fan, so true crime listening and reading consumes a lot of my time.
